Not Sure About a Colour?

We can provide colour samples for thousands of colours across all major brands in Australia, as well as Australian and International Standard colours. Take samples home, hold them against your surfaces and observe them in natural light — it's the only reliable way to choose.

Colours look different depending on the lighting in a room, the other surfaces around them, and the time of day. We'll help you think through those variables so you go home with confidence — but the final call is always yours to make.

Need a Colour Match? Bring Us a Physical Sample

Still not sure about a colour, or need to match something specific? Bring us a physical sample — a chip, a piece of trim, a tile, a painted surface — and we can help.

We have staff with over 30 years of colour matching experience who truly understand the subtle difference that makes a good match great. Colour matching is as much art as science, and experience matters.

A real colour match is so much more than scan and produce. Paint needs to dry naturally on the sample before the colour can be properly assessed, and then it needs to be observed in different lighting conditions. For a truly precise match, leave your sample with us, tell us how much paint you need and what type, and we'll call you when it's done — sometimes same day, sometimes a little longer depending on the complexity.

When the Match Needs to Be Exact

1

Leave Your Sample With Us

Bring in your physical sample and tell us how much paint you need and what type. The more of the original sample you can leave, the better.

2

We Let the Paint Dry & Assess

Paint needs to dry naturally before colour can be accurately assessed. Our experienced team then checks the match in different lighting conditions — because a good match in one light isn't always a good match in all light.

3

We Call You When It's Ready

Sometimes same day, sometimes a little longer — depending on the complexity of the match. We'll call you when it's done and ready to collect.

We understand we live in a world where people expect instant results — and for many colour jobs, a straightforward mix is perfectly fine. But for customers who need an exacting standard or are particularly discerning about their result, our approach produces a quality of match that simply can't be rushed. Call us before you come in and we can talk through the best approach for your job.

Colour Questions

Absolutely — and we encourage it. The only reliable way to choose a colour is to see it in your own space, in your own light, next to the things it will live with. Come in and browse our fan decks and colour chips across all major brands and take as many as you need.
A physical sample is best — a paint chip, a piece of trim or skirting, a tile, a piece of fabric, or the original paint tin. The larger the sample the better. Digital photos on a phone can help us get in the right direction but are not reliable enough on their own for a precise match due to screen calibration and camera processing.
For a straightforward formula match from a known brand, it can be relatively quick. For a genuine physical sample match — where the paint needs to be mixed, applied, dried naturally and then assessed in different lighting — we'll ask you to leave the sample with us and we'll call you when it's ready. This could be the same day or longer, depending on the job. Call ahead and we can give you a better estimate.
Yes — we carry formula databases for all major Australian brands including Dulux, Taubmans, Bristol, Wattyl, Haymes and others. We can mix those formulas into our quality Australian-made paint bases. We also work with Australian and International Standard colours for trade and commercial applications.
Lighting is the biggest factor — natural light, the direction it comes from, artificial light at night, and even the colours of adjacent surfaces all affect how a paint colour reads. This is why taking samples home and living with them for a day or two is so important before committing. Our team can help you think through these variables, but the final colour decision is always yours to make.
